Commercial CHP

Combined Heat and Power – What is it?

Previously called “cogeneration”, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems produce on-site power generation. The units installed by Easy Energy vary in size from 50 kW – 300 kW of produced electric power. There are many benefits to CHP including greater efficiency and lower energy costs.

Combined Heat and Power – How it Works

CHP describes any system that simultaneously or sequentially generates electric or mechanical energy and utilizes the thermal energy that is normally wasted. Most CHP systems designed by Easy Energy are configured to generate electricity, recapture the waste heat and use it for domestic water heating, pool and spa heating or space heating.

Solar Hot Water + CHP = Prime Electrical Power for Less

Easy Energy combines solar water heating with CHP to help commercial businesses save money on prime electricity costs.  Ideal candidates for a Solar Hot Water + CHP solution include multi-family housing communities and hotels which operate a centralized plant for heating and cooling.  Natural gas that is saved by the solar water heating system can now be utilized in the CHP unit to generate electricity AND additional heat for onsite use.  Maximum savings are achieved by using the natural gas fueled generator during times of peak-demand electricity, thereby saving money and ensuring that electrical equipment loads can be more effectively managed during utility “brown out” periods.  See diagram below.

Commercial Financing

Easy Energy offers flexible commercial financing options for our energy solutions. Our commercial leasing partner is BHE Financial, a Phoenix-based company focused on financing equipment for commercial renewable energy projects.

You could join our growing group of clients who lease a solar system with no upfront cost and a low monthly payment that nets energy cost savings the first month the system is installed. Utility rebates and tax incentives for renewable energy and energy efficiency are incorporated into your leasing plan and reflected in a low monthly payment that is less than your monthly energy savings.
