Natural Gas – From Organic Waste to Energy
Methane gas is the chief ingredient of natural gas and occurs naturally when organic materials undergo anaerobic decomposition.
Unburned methane gas is a greenhouse gas that is 25 times more harmful to earth's atmosphere than CO2 (carbon dioxide). When methane gas is used as a fuel and burned
completely it is a powerful and renewable energy source, with the lowest CO2 emission of any burned fuel.
Digester
A methane digester is like a small landfill that works by breaking down organic materials to produce methane gas, with a by-product of nitrogen rich fertilizer.
The catalyst for the reaction is 95 degree F heat, and water. The methane gas that is generated can be piped into your existing gas line, after the meter, to supplement
your natural gas or propane usage. A methane digester is an ideal and easy alternative energy source for restaurants, hotels and commercial food facilities.
